The painting above is one of my beloved Miss Blue - my sweet tempered lovely cat. I caught her looking out the window one day and took a photo - seemed as if it would make a great painting. I'm happy with it.The painting below was a gift for a friend of her pet.

My one painting of a bird - not bad I think. I like the contrasts in the colors and the natural coloring of the bird forced me into a color palette I would never use.

A Fall themed still life.
While I love painting, I have taken a step back and am now studying seriously the art of drawing and illustration. Classes once or twice a week. I'm sure it will improve my art and help me see better. As I study art I realize how we all see things differently, not politically (although that certainly is true) but actually see. Colors are different to each of us. But so is composition. So much of being able to achieve in art is training in translating what you see to the canvas. I hope the paintings I do this year will show this change in my "vision."
